Decker, David Leigh, Waukon. Graduated from Waukon High School in 1948, entered the US Navy and served as an ET-3 at the Navel Academy, Annapolis, during the Korean war. Graduated in 1956 from Iowa State University at Ames, as an Electrical Engineer. He worked on te Gemini Space Program. He died in 2009 in Missouri and is buried in Waukon. ~Obituary


Griffin, Robert W., Waukon, was graduated from West Point in 1937, where he was captain of the varsity baseball team his last year. WWII veteran, He retired as a Colonel. Died 1987 & buried in Holy Hope cemetery, Tucson, AZ

Harrington, Robert E., was an outstanding Postville High School athlete, attended Cornell College and graduated from West Point. A veteran of World War II, he retired as a Colonel. Died in Arlington, Washington in 1985. (Obituary)


Lloyd, Charles F.
(graduate No. 2546), was appointed [to the Military Academy at West Point] from Lansing, Allamakee county, and graduated June 17, 1874, No. 38 in his class of 41. He served on frontier duty until June 10, 1883, when he resigned, engaging in private business in Butte, Montana, where he became Colonel of the Montana Militia. May 14, 1898 he was appointed and commissioned Lieutenant-Colonel, 3d United States Volunteer Cavalry, serving with the regiment until he was honorably mustered out of service September 8, 1898. Reed, Milton E., entered the Naval Academy [at Annapolis] from Waukon, September 5, 1887, and is at present (1904) a Lieutenant on the Active List. (Iowa At West Point and Annapolis - full citation at bottom of the page)

Captain Milton E. Reed died in San Francisco, CA on January 28, 1932. He is buried in Arlington National Cemetery. Obituary & photo
