Private Roland Madorin is now somewhere in England, according to a letter received by his mother, Mrs. Phoebe Madorin, Monday. "Tell the folks I'm going to try and live up to the reputation of my three uncles, Art, Pat & Mel [Brandt], established in the first World War. If I can do that, I'll be contented the rest of my life," he writes. Corporal Arthur F. Brandt made the supreme sacrifice while serving with the famous Rainbow Division in World War I. He was Postville's first volunteer and also the first to give his life on the battlefield. The American Legion Post here bears his name.
