I, Frederick Doehler, aged 76 years, of Village Creek, Allamakee County, Iowa, being of sound mind and disposing memory, do make, publish and declare this to be my last will and testament, hereby revoking all prior wills and testaments at any time heretofore made by me.

First, it is my will that all my just debts and funeral expenses be first paid out of my estate by my executrix hereinafter named.

Second, I give, devise and bequeath to my beloved wife, Mary Doehler a life interest in all of my estate, real, personal, and mixed to have and to hold to her use and behoof during the period of her natural life, in lieu of her dower and thirds and statutory allowances, balance and remainder of my estate, real, personal and mixed after the death of myself and wife and after the payment of all just debts of myself and wife including funeral and other expenses to go to my heirs hereinafter named in such proportions as I hereinafter state.

Third, I give, devise and bequeath to my daughter, Cecilia Mathis, 30/100 of my estate, real, personal, and mixed, after the death of my said wife, to have and to hold to her and her heirs and assigns absolutely and forever.

Fourth. I give, devise and bequeath to my son, A.C. Doehler, 30/100 of my estate, real, personal, and mixed, after the death of my said wife, to have and to hold to him and his heirs and assigns absolutely and forever.

Fifth, I give, devise, and bequeath to my son, Joseph Doehler, 30/100 of my estate, real, personal, and mixed, after the death of my said wife, to have and to hold to him and his heirs and assigns absolutely and forever.

Sixty. I give, devise and bequeath to my daughter, Mary Guthrie, 8/100 of my estate, real, personal, and mixed, after the death of my said wife, to have and to hold to her and her heirs and assigns absolutely and forever.

Seventh. I give, devise, and bequeath to my son, Gust. Doehler, 1/100 of my estate, real, personal, and mixed, after the death of my said wife, to have and to hold to him and his heirs and assigns absolutely and forever.

Eighth. I give, devise and bequeath to my son, William Doehler, 1/100 of my estate, real, personal and mixed, after the death of my said wife, to have and to hold to him and his heirs and assigns absolutely and forever.

Ninth. All the rest, residue and remainder of my estate, real, personal and mixed, of which I may die seized and possessed, and to which I may be entitled both at law an in equity as well in possession as in expectancy, I give, devise, and bequeath to my children above named, in the same proportions above named, to Cecilia Mathis 30/100, to A.C. Doehler 30/100, to Joseph Doehler 30/100, to Mary Guthrie 8/100, to Gust. Doehler 1/100, and to William Doehler 1/100, to have and to hold to them and their heirs and assigns in said proportions absolutely and forever.

Lastly, I hereby constitute and appoint my daughter Cecilia Mathis, executrix of this my last will and testament, exonerating her from giving bond for the faithful performance of her duties as such, and I hereby authorize and empower her to sell, dispose and convey all of my estate, real, personal, and mixed and to execute good and sufficient deeds of conveyances and assignments therefor, as soon after the death of myself and my wife, as she deems proper and just and after she has the same converted into cash or its equivalent to make the distributions to the above-named legatees as above stated after first paying all debts, funeral and other expenses.
