The work of taking the 1950 census in this area is now underway with enumerators having been appointed to carry out the task. Each county seat is a headquarters for the census area with appointments made down to township level for the actual job of counting. A part of Allamakee county, including Postville, has been assigned to the Decorah headquarters.
William Behrens has been appointed enumerator for the town of Postville and Lorence Reinhardt will count noses for Post township. Orval Weihe is the enumerator for Franklin township.
